I was born in Kakheti, in the city of Erekle, I don’t remember when I started singing, although my memory begins with me singing while sitting on my mother’s knees. I remember my first fandur lesson bittersweetly, because the rough strings of the instrument made my fingers bleed. Soon after, I started to study traditional chanting and sang in St. George’s Cathedral of Atskuri, then I moved to Telavi Assumption Cathedral, where I still sing. That’s why no one was surprised by the news of my choice of profession, that’s how I got to the Institution of Ecclesiastical Chant ,where I was convinced of the correctness of my decision, and I and the folklore of my country and church chanting became inseparable.
I knew the ensemble “Ialoni”since childhood and often attended their concerts in Telavi and Tbilisi. It’s strange, but I always had thoughts that someday I would surely perform songs with this ensemble. I don’t know what to call this story, a dream come true or just an excuse, but it really happened in a few years. I became a member of Ialoni. And we sang those favorite songs together. Singing with these outstanding girls is a great honor and happiness for me. The song follows me all my life, it’s with me every minute, and if I can’t say something in words, the song will do it for me.
