IALONI is a girls’ ensemble, which acts with unprecedented success ever since its foundation in 2009 and which popularizes the Georgian traditional music.
In IALONI’s art, apart from rare samples of folk and ecclesiastic music, there are represented also the samples of the city folklore and composing school, with original elaborations.
It is gladdening that many followers have appeared to the manner of singing elaborated by IALONI during these years, as well as to their style of polyphonization of single voice songs and A capella, non-instrumental performance, both among the ensembles created in Tbilisi and in regions of Georgia as well as in choirs acting abroad.
This audio disc of town songs integrates samples pertaining to various epochs, regions and composers.
Together with members of the ensemble, the musicians: Tina Mehtieva (Azeri lady-ashugh: vocal, saz), Misho Javakhishvili (vocal), David Khositashvili (guitar) have presented interesting experiments.
